For the first three days of any chat: no photos, no real names, no socials. Photos cannot be unlocked early, even if you both want to — the three days always run first.

Can I talk to more than one person at a time?

No. KeepItHalal is built for marriage, not parallel chats. You can only have one active match at a time. Skip the current one to free up your queue.

What if one of us doesn't want to reveal?

Photos stay hidden unless both of you agree to reveal after the three-day window. One person requesting a reveal does not unlock either person's photos. You can keep talking privately or leave the match.

How does verification work?

Everyone verifies their email address, and we check your location. You can also take a short selfie video and upload a government ID — real humans review those, and passing earns the verified badge. Verification photos are encrypted and never shown to matches.

Is ID verification compulsory?

No. Verify your email and location and complete your profile to start matching. Government ID and a selfie are optional — they unlock the verified badge and are required if you want to be vetted. Profiles without them are clearly shown to other members as unverified, so people can decide for themselves.

What if someone tries to ask for my number?

Our moderation automatically blocks phone numbers, emails, and social handles in early chat. You can also report any user in one tap.

Can I add a Wali to my chat?

Yes. Send an invite link to their email, where they can sign up and make a Wali account allowing view-only chat threads. To remove, tap once, and they lose access immediately.

Does my Wali see every conversation I have?

No. Access is granted per conversation only after both members agree. Other conversations stay private. Either member can withdraw agreement and the Wali loses access to that conversation.

How do I request Wali access on a new conversation?

Open the chat, tap the Wali chip and nominate your Wali. Your match must also agree before the Wali can read that conversation. Wali access is read-only and can be withdrawn.

You receive 3 free Skips on sign-up. Leaving before the 3-day reveal, or leaving early after choosing to continue for 14 days, uses one Skip. Moving on at the reveal decision or after the 14 days is free.

What happens in the 3-day anonymous window?

Every match starts with a 3-day anonymous window. Nothing unlocks automatically: photos, real names and videos only unlock when you have both chosen Reveal and the full three days have passed. At reveal you may move on for free or continue for 14 days. Leaving early uses one Skip; contact details unlock after the 14 days.

What are boosts?

Boosts prioritise your profile for 24 hours, increasing its visibility and improving your chances of matching. You get 1 free boost when you sign up — any additional boosts can be purchased.

How do I get vetted?

You can get vetted directly in the app or by visiting the Vetting tab and choosing one of our three Vet Packs. Brothers can purchase vetting tiers to earn a vetted badge on their profile, while sisters can purchase Vetted Potential Intro Packs. If a sister is chatting with an unvetted brother, she also has the option to pay to have him vetted.

What are the vetting levels?

Three. Standard (£19) is AI plus a psychology questionnaire. Premium (£99) adds a live human judge panel, and your £99 comes off the Medal of Honour coaching programme if you don't pass. Medal of Honour (£999) is the full coaching programme with a solo onboarding call, weekly group calls, worksheets and extra videos — no passing or failing.

What is the refund policy for vetting and introductions?

Vetting fees are non-refundable once the process has started because work begins immediately. Hand-picked Standard, Premium and Medal of Honour introductions are delivered within 3–5 working days. When you receive an introduction you have 48 hours to accept or skip it free of charge; after 48 hours, skipping uses one paid skip.

Do you take a fee if I get married?

No. We don't take any cut, fee, or referral on success — but if you'd like, you can be featured in our blog or as one of our success stories.

What about my privacy?

Verification photos are encrypted at rest. Android can block chat screenshots; iPhone and web capture cannot be fully prevented. Photos stay hidden until mutual reveal. We don't sell your data.

Will my profile be visible on Google?

No. Profiles are inside the app, not on the public web. Search engines can't index them.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Profile, photos, and chat history are deleted within 30 days. Anonymised analytics may be retained as legally required.

Open Profile → Menu → Danger zone to request account deletion, or use the Delete your account page on the website. Follow the confirmation steps shown there.
