Verification

Getting verified

A short selfie video plus ID proves you are real. Verification media is reviewed by humans and never shown to matches.

What we ask for

Verification has two parts: a short selfie video so we can confirm you are a live person, and a photo ID so we can confirm your age and name.

Verification media is encrypted at rest, reviewed by trained moderators, and never shared with matches. It is not your profile photo.

  1. 1Open Verify from your profile.
  2. 2Record the selfie video in good light with your face unobstructed.
  3. 3Upload a clear photo of your ID with all four corners visible.
  4. 4Submit and wait for the review result — usually the same day.

Why a submission gets rejected

The most common reasons are glare on the ID, a blurry or cropped document, a face partly covered in the selfie video, or an expired document.

If your submission is rejected you can resubmit straight away. The rejection notice tells you which part to redo.

Verified vs vetted

Verification is mandatory for everyone and confirms identity. Vetting is optional and goes further — reference checks and human interviews at Standard, Premium or Medal of Honour level, shown as a badge on the profile.
